F1-RE Centre
Formula 1 Research & Education (F1RE) Centre
Opened on 6th December 2000, by Nigel Mansell OBE, Grand Fellow of the MIRCE Akademy, to facilitate Mirce Science based research of the motion of F1 machines through in-service reality of Grand Prix Racing.
1. To observe and record in-service events of F1 machines through each racing season
To achieve this objective the Centre continuously collects and analyses, available after-race data, by applying Mirce Science methods to understand in-service that shape the motion of F1 machines through a racing process, in respect to: driver, rolling-chases, engine, tyres, circuit, regulations, team, competitors, weather and many other causing sources.
2: To subject recorded data to Mirce mechanics equations
To achieve this objective the Centre applies Mirce science probabilistic methods to enable use of Mirce mechanics equations for the prediction of the F1 machines in-service performance for feasible engineering solution, tactical and environmental conditions, at design stages when changes are possible at no extra cost and time. This is equally powerful and needed as CFD models and calculations, which have fundamentally, change the F1 design process, but still ignored in-service events, like: failure and repair processes, natural environment on the day and the impacts of drivers, teams, sponsors and so forth.
3: To annually recognise the Mirce Formula F1 Champion Team and Driver
To achieve this objective the Centre has developed a special method for calculating the Teams and Drivers F1 Champions for each season, based on the publicly available FIA information. Thus, the Centre produces annually the Mirce F1 Table as a basis for the Award of the Mirce F1 Driver Champion and the Mirce F1 Team Champion.
Mirce F1 Award for Drivers
Mirce defines the F1 Driver Champion as, “The Driver which most successfully crossed the finish line in all F1 Grand Prix races in the FIA organised Formula One World Championship season.”
The Mirce F1RE Centre Regulations: A Driver will be awarded one point for crossing the finish line in every race competed. For every unfinished race, caused by the Team’s error, the driver will be awarded the proportion of the one point corresponding to the portion of the race completed. For every unfinished race, caused by the Driver, for whatever reason, no portion of a point will be awarded. All races count. The Drivers’ title of the Mirce F1 Driver Champion will be awarded to the Driver(s) who is placed at the top of the Mirce F1 Table for Drivers, produced by the Mirce Science Akademy, compiled at the end of the each season.
Mirce F1 Award for Teams
Mirce defines the F1 Team Champion as: “The Team which most successfully crossed the finish line in all F1 Grand Prix races in the FIA organised Formula One World Championship season.”
The Mirce F1RE Centre Regulations: A Team will be awarded one point for every race finished by each driver in the races competed. For every unfinished race, caused by their drivers, for whatever reason, the team will be awarded the proportion of the point corresponding to the portion of the race completed. For every unfinished race, caused by the team, for whatever reason, no portion of a point will be awarded. All races for both drivers count. The Team title Mirce F1 Team Champion will be awarded to the Team(s) that is placed at the top of the Mirce F1 Table for Teams, produced by the Mirce Akademy, at the end of the each season.
